Events Highlights

The annual Scholar Awards Luncheon for the Utah Chapter of ARCS Foundation, Inc. was held April 28, 2025 at the John and Marcia Price College of Engineering in the Catmull Gallery of the Warnock Engineering Building.  After the welcome by Sue Dintelman, ARCS Utah Chapter President, the group heard updates from our 2023-24 scholars.  The updates from Chase Paulson, MD and Nadim Azar, MD were given by Dr. Monica Fleckstein of the Moran Eye Center.  The update from Dallin Littlefield was given by Dr. Stacy Firth of the Mechanical Engineering Department.  Alexis Throop, a mechnical engineering scholar, was present and able to present her research.  Our 2024-25 scholars were presented their certificates and pins by Lorraine Mayne, VP Scholar Outreach.   Dr. Charles Musgrave, Dean of the COE and Dr. Jeffrey Petty, Vice-Chair of Clinical Affairs at the Moran addressed the audience.  Also in attendance representing the University of Utah administration was Dr. Frankie Santos Laanan.   Janene Muller, ARCS Member, gave a very moving tribute to Ruth Novak, who passed away April 17th of this year.  Ruth was a pioneer in the aerospace industry and a founding member of the Utah ARCS Chapter.
