Members and guests had the opportunity to hear Dr. Eric Hansen, Ophthalmology Fellow at the Moran Eye Center, and Margaret Rose, manager of the Moran Eye Center’s Global Outreach program, provide overviews of the critical research Moran Eye Center doctors conduct and service they provide to create sustainable eye care for throughout the world.   It was gratifying to know that because of this commitment, communities have been able to work with the Global Outreach Program to develop health care centers, educate and train doctors and health care professionals, and provide ongoing treatment to improve the sight of children, young people, and the elderly.  Attendees got to see first-hand the difference cataract surgery can make in someone’s life through Margaret’s cataract coloring interactive demonstration.   All who attended were truly humbled and gratified by learning more about the Global Outreach Program and re-committed themselves to the mission of ARCS.
