Bram Hunt Finalist for Prestigious Award

Posted on Friday, June 16, 2023

Bram Hunt, ARCS Scholar 2018-19, was a finalist in the Heart Rhythm Society 2023 Young Investigator Award competition.  Although Bram did not win, being a finalist for the award at the biggest scientific conference for cardiac electrophysiology in the world was a great honor.  Bram presented his work at the conference in May in New Orleans.

Hunt's research presentation was titled "Are Drivers Recurring or Ephemeral? Observations from Serial Mapping of Persistent Atrial Fibrillation". The work investigates the stability of "drivers", hypothesized sites which are proposed to be mechanisms for atrial fibrillation, across a multi-month timeline. Evidence was found that some drivers have stability across this timeline, giving credence to the need for their treatment.
